New level of IIRSM membership launched

The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) has launched a new 'Specialist' level of membership.

This new category of membership has been introduced to reflect the difference between professionals in the industry. The Institute has recognised public concern about unscrupulous or unqualified health and safety practitioners and the lack of clarity over how to identify a competent health and safety practitioner.

Therefore, the new, stand-alone Specialist level is now being offered to any professional in a health, safety or risk-related profession (minimum qualified to level 4 equivalent) and undertaking at least 15 per cent of their work time on health, safety or risk-related issues.

IIRSM would like to assure members that the Specialist level of membership is not equivalent to Fellowship level as wrongly stated in the August issue of HSW magazine.
