£150,000 harbour fine

A Liverpool boat company has been fined £150,000 after a member of the public drove off a dockside and drowned. Harbourside Marina pleaded guilty to failing to ensure a safety chain, which acted as a barrier at the water's edge, was in place at all times. The company was ordered to pay Liverpool Council's costs of £38,250.
