Tow tractor death

Prosecutions and Claims |
01.01.2007

Chorley-based PinCroft Dyeing and Printing has been fined £100,000 plus almost £19,000 costs for the death of 21-year-old Daryl Wayne Lloyd who was killed when his tow tractor overturned in May 2005.

HSE inspector Rosemary Leese Weller told HSW the tow tractor's maintenance was "absolutely abysmal", with no seat, under-inflated tyres and sticking brakes. Lloyd had received only minimal training on the vehicle.
