Communication is definitely part of the equation. If these board meetings had minutes which were disseminated to the workforce, who would then see exactly what their directors were talking about, then there would be more transparency and more trust of the directors - or not, as the case may be.

      I invite two random people from anywhere in the organisation to sit in on our monthly safety committee, It certainly makes them more aware and over time everybody in the organisation has attended at least once
