£12,500 saw fine

Prosecutions and Claims |
01.01.2007

Factory Reconstruction Co (Manchester) has paid out £12,500 in fines and costs after a Czech employee, Jaroslav Linka, severely lacerated his hand using a circular saw with no adequate guarding to cut up wood to make pallets.

The company had not risk assessed the work and had not provided Linka, a former mineworker, with any training or instructions.
