Paddington plea

Prosecutions and Claims |
01.12.2006

Network Rail faces an unlimited fine after pleading guilty to charges under the Health and Safety at Work Act related to the 1999 Ladbroke Grove rail crash near Paddington, which killed 31 people and injured 400. The HSE prosecuted the rail infrastructure operator, formerly Railtrack, after the Crown Prosecution Service failed to build a case. The fine is due to be set at a hearing in December.
