Finger guillotined

Power systems and instrumentation manufacturer Agrilek has paid £4300 in fines and costs  for inadequate machine guarding after employee Douglas Moore lost the tip of his index finger when he was using a guillotine on 9 August 2006. The Barrow-in-Furness-based company was prosecuted under Section 11(1) of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations.
