HSE's tribunal win

Prosecutions and Claims |
01.06.2006

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has successfully defended an appeal by Menzies Aviation (UK) against an improvement notice requiring the company to revise its baggage-handling system. The notice was served on the company in May 2005 following a visit by an HSE inspector to Manchester Airport. It required the company to provide conveyors - or a suitable alternative - to help employees load and unload luggage. Following the employment tribunal's decision, Menzies Aviation must comply with the notice.
