Lost finger payout
Prosecutions and Claims |
01.01.2007
Trade union Amicus has secured £100,000 in compensation from Langley Holdings for Donald Ford who lost a finger in a welding accident in December 2003.
Ford was using an oxyacetylene torch to cut up a steel barrel when the two ends of the barrel snapped together, crushing his thumb and three fingers. Ford's middle finger had to be amputated at the knuckle and he was unable to return to his job because of permanent weakness in his hand.
