Tories' CDM EDM
News | HSW
01.05.2007
Three weeks before the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM 2007) came into force on 6 April, Conservative leader David Cameron tabled an early day motion (EDM) in parliament calling on the government to annul the Regulations.
The motion is an attempt to secure a debate on CDM 2007 in which, the Conservatives say, "assurances can be sought about the implementation and any subsequent review of the regulations". The debate is likely to be scheduled when MPs reconvene after the Easter recess.
CDM 2007 update CDM 1994 and consolidate the former Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations (see CDM 2007: the new rules).
