Does the title of the CDM regulations confuse what they cover.
Since the CDM regulations 2007 have been introduced many people seem to have missed the point that any "construction" work is included, in that the The Construction (General Provisions) Regulations 1961
S.I. 1961/1580 have now been included in PART ... -

perhaps i am missing the point here, even more so because the older regulations you refer to i was not aware of, maybe because I dont need to be aware of them, i dont know!

The confusion I was thinking of is that the older regulations now in Part 4 of the CDM Regulations covered all construction, putting these in the CDM Regulations has caused some people to only look at the requirements ...

Since the CDM regulations 2007 have been introduced many people seem to have missed the point that any "construction" work is included, in that the The Construction (General Provisions) Regulations 1961
S.I. 1961/1580 have now been included in PART 4 of the CDM Regulations 2007 'DUTIES RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY ON CONSTRUCTION SITES'.
Even the expert answer in the April issue of hsw page 7 seems to miss this point. In fact th old CDM regulations actually covered all construction work it was as now the notification that was the demarkation.
It is unlikely to happen but would it be a good idea to re-title the regulations to provide clarity over what they actually cover????
