I would advise that the pigeon poo is removed prior to starting any work in the first place by an approved contractor.

Pigeon excrement pose a significant danger to human. Pigeon excrement have been found to be a source of disease organism such as Crytococcosis, Histoplasmosis. I would I advise anyone working in such area to use the following PPE:
1. Air Purifying Respirator
2. Disposable Coveralls
3. Disposable boots,
4. Disposable gloves and hat
Please treat disposable clothing believed to be contaminated with disease agents as an infectious waste.

What PPE should contractors working in a roof space containing pigeon excrement wear? They are not removing it just working in the area.
