That would depend on their knowledge of the subject matter and general knowledge of the law. There have been many articles and seminars on the CMA and assuming a safety practitioner has read or attended these would have a bearing on their competence.

Any guidance provided would be largely from a health and safety perspective and not specifically from a legal one. A lawyer is probably best placed for that. For example, I have provided my employer with a Workplace Fatality Protocol in the unlikely event a person should be killed. This document takes into account not just the CMA but other matters such a PACE, HSWA, HR type issues and so on.
