Stockline charges over nine deaths

Prosecutions and Claims |
01.04.2006

The owners of the Stockline factory in Glasgow, where nine people died in a 2004 explosion, are to be prosecuted at the High Court. ICL Plastics will face charges of failing to maintain its employees' safety, to carry out adequate risk assessments and to maintain pipes carrying hazardous gases. The announcement follows an investigation by Glasgow's procurator fiscal, Strathclyde Police and the Health and Safety Executive into the incident in which 40 people were injured. No date has yet been set for the trial.
