iv been removing asbestos for 10 years now and i think this is just another way of robbing us strippers of more money for no reason. hse are moaning about face fits to be mandatory every year and masks to be tested every 6 months refresher training that tells you not a lot you dont know except stuff you dont need to know. hse need to make a lot more visits on sites and not tell companies when they are coming. i know some right horror stories. hse have no hands on experience of real asbestos removing because it will always get done right when they are about to turn up. the arse is falling out of the asbestos game with to many strippers trying to impress there supervisors how quick they can do a job by smashing the crap out of aib tiles , debris down drains in boiler rooms , stuff straight in the skip without being parcelled and the most common is double bagging in the enclosure . only an ex asbestos remover would know where to look and what to look for on an hse visit to get the whole story.
