20.11.2008
A new chemicals at work portal has been added to the HSE website.
The page provides links to all areas of the HSE site that cover health and safety in the chemicals industry. There are sections dedicated to manufacture and storage, marketing and supply, use, and carriage, containing information on legislation such as the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations.
The site summarises the important points of the law and dutyholders' requirements. The section on the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals) regulations includes downloadable guidance documents.
There is also detailed information on specialist areas such as working with radioactive materials.
Visit the portal here.
