Bovis fined

Leeds magistrates have fined Bovis Lend Lease £5,000 plus costs of £7,632 following an injury to a joiner working one of the company's sub-contractors who fell from an unguarded working platform on the contruction site for the 30-storey Bridgewater Place tower in February last year. The company pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
