Does the title of the CDM regulations confuse what they cover.
Since the CDM regulations 2007 have been introduced many people seem to have missed the point that any "construction" work is included, in that the The Construction (General Provisions) Regulations 1961
S.I. 1961/1580 have now been included in PART ... -

perhaps i am missing the point here, even more so because the older regulations you refer to i was not aware of, maybe because I dont need to be aware of them, i dont know!

The confusion I was thinking of is that the older regulations now in Part 4 of the CDM Regulations covered all construction, putting these in the CDM Regulations has caused some people to only look at the requirements ...

The confusion I was thinking of is that the older regulations now in Part 4 of the CDM Regulations covered all construction, putting these in the CDM Regulations has caused some people to only look at the requirements to notify and then assumed that the rest of the CDM regulations did not apply to them and the importance of the earlier regulations have been lost.
However if you were not aware of them anyway perhaps they are just as well in the CDM Regulations as this has wider publicity as part 4 is rather important.
