Stress at work
A member of my staff had his employment terminated for carrying an offensive weapon at work.
However all the staff approximately 5 of them decided to go sick with stress related symptoms.

The stress symptoms are probably a means by which your staff are making you aware that they oppose the disciplinary action. You need to adddress that issue, which is not really a matter of health and safety. I suggest you ...

A member of my staff had his employment terminated for carrying an offensive weapon at work.
However all the staff approximately 5 of them decided to go sick with stress related symptoms.
My line of work is security and I cant see that asking someone to follow procedures and reasonable management requests would bring on stress related symptoms.
