Major risk survey
News | HSW
01.06.2006
The Health and Safety Executive has published the first findings of a major new study on employee perceptions of workplace risk. More than 10,000 workers took part in the Workplace Health and Safety Survey, which was conducted between August and December 2005. According to the report, fewer than one in three respondents said that their employers had taken preventative action to reduce stress levels in the workplace; and while 73% had received manual handling training, only half had received training on working around moving vehicles. The report is available at
www.hse.gov.uk/statistics/pdf/whassw1.pdf and HSW will cover the survey in more detail next issue.
